I am Mike, but you can also call me Akatochtli, which is a nahuatl name. Nahuatl is an indigenous language of central Mexico.

This blog is designed to cover the areas of language and literature in English, Spanish and Nahuatl, but we're going to post info on comics, art and popular culture as well.

To start with, I'll post some material on semiotics, a science that deals with signs, very useful to study the kind of topics we're discussing here.

¡Hola a todos!

Yo soy Mike, aunque también me pueden llamar Akatochtli, que es un nombre nahuatl. Este blog se llama Lengua y Literatura, pero en realidad pretende abarcar una variedad de temas: lengua y literatura hispanas, inglesas y nahuatl. También comics, arte y temas afines.

Para abarcar un abanico tan amplio, les dejo un material relacionado con la semiótica, la ciencia que estudia los signos. ¿Por qué?, pues porque a través de la perspectiva de esta ciencia, se puede acceder a todo tipo de temas, es decir, aprendemos a leer semióticamente y a relacionarlos de formas que tal vez no se nos habían ocurrido.
